Hydrogen Peroxide for the Garden
Add oxygen to your garden soil by watering with hydrogen peroxide mixed into your water. The roots will absorb additional nutrients and water to feed to the plant, boosting growth. Add two teaspoons of 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide mixed with 1 gallon of water. Using this at every other watering will help grow a strong, viable plant. For hydroponic growing, use the same ratio for your water grow tank. The hydrogen peroxide adds the extra oxygen atom to the grow water, something that some hydroponically grown plants have difficulty accessing.
You can achieve the same beneficial effect with your house plants by |
adding 1 ounce of three percent hydrogen peroxide (or 16 drops of 35 percent solution) to every quart of water you give your plants. (It can also be made into an excellent safe insecticide. Simply spray your plants with 8 ounces of three percent peroxide mixed with 8 ounces of white sugar and 1 gallon of water.)
If you grow on a larger scale, air pollutants are affecting the amount of H2O2 available to crops through rainfall. Many farms, realizing this, are increasing crop yields by spraying their plants with diluted hydrogen peroxide - (5-16 ounces of 35 percent mixed with 20 gallons of water per acre). |
