The Fungus Among Us
Fungus And The Link to Cancer
As we continue our own journey with cancer there have been many revelations...especially since I considered us a family who eats pretty healthy, and avoids toxic skin care, cleaning and lawn chemicals. So how does a family that promotes a holistic lifestyle still end up with the cancer experience? Well, more recently a revelation may have revealed another piece to the puzzle.
FUNGUS
Through a diagnostic methold not offered by conventional medicine, or if it is available oncology did not think to look for it, we learned that my husband, who has stage 4 cancer, has a pretty powerful fungal growth; along with parasites. Twenty-four hours after learning this, and pondering the revelation, I recalled an issue we had had with mold in our bathroom about 15 years prior, due to an improperly sealed tub surround. Could this have been the start to poor health years down the road? I was always concerned that someone would get sick. Having no funds to hire professional remediation, Jesse and I cleaned it up - primarily he. A couple years prior he had been treated for pulmonary pneumonitis, a respiratory condition. I suspect that made him more susceptible to mold/fungus than many.
Dr. Hulda Clark discovered many years ago that fungus promoted cancer. For those to whom this information is new, the Clark Information Center is useful. A link to an article for beginners is found here.
An excerpt from Dr. Sircus newsletter, "Cancer—always believed to be caused by genetic cell mutations—can in reality be caused by infections from viruses, bacteria, and fungi. “I believe that, conservatively, 15 to 20% of all cancer is caused by infections; however, the number could be larger—maybe double,” said Dr. Andrew Dannenberg, director of the Cancer Center at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Dannenberg made the remarks in a speech in December 2007 at the annual international conference of the American Association for Cancer Research."
How does one feed fungus? SUGAR. BREADS. ALL YEAST. My husband, like many, had an addiction to sugar. Not God made sugars, but the man made found in breads, cookies, even healthy wraps contain refined processed flour - which feed fungus. I even learned that strawberries contain a natural wild yeast. When we began our journey we went gun-ho on clean eating, juicing, and being careful not to feed the "cancer", not realizing it was the "fungus" we needed not to feed. Then the holidays came, and he was tired of eating clean. Afterall, it had been nearly 5 months and the HCG tests were coming back with lower numbers, indicating a reduction of cancer. As soon as the holiday splurges occurred, he became worse. Almost immediately, now realizing that inadvertently the fungi, which may have been receding, had been given new life, so to speak.
Some healthy foods are even off limits - such as nutrtiional yeast. Strawberries, I have learned, contain a natural wild yeast. Mushrooms are a fungi themselves, and should be avoided. Fiber is important in the diet to help the body excrete any fungus you have killed off, and taking activated charcoal capsules several times a day, is also helpful. Oregano oil capsules are also a beneficial supplement for fungal presence.
Important Note: AVOID PEANUTS. All cancer patients should avoid peanut butter and peanuts, as well as anyone with fungi present. The aflatoxiin is present even in organic peanuts.
But other nuts, such as cashews and pistachios, are also known for mycotoxin presence. These are my favorite nuts - so we learn to take extra measures for safetly. If you are making vegan nut butters and cheeses, and you are concerned about molds. Take some precautions. I always soak my nuts with collodial silver added to the water. When soaking 2 cups of raw, organic cashew halves, I cover wtih water and add approximately a tablespoon of Collodial Silver and stir nuts and water well. I always refrigerate when soaking nuts for recipes. Rinse well before continuing with your nut recipe.
Dr. Hulda Clark's website recommends using Vitamin C powder. I recently obtained this product from Food Matters - it was the only product from Food Matters food product launch that the Asyra scan gave me the green light on for my own personal use. I look forward to experimenting with Vitamin C powder in my next raw nut soak recipe activity. For more information on Mold for Beginners, visit the Clark website.
ANTI FUNGAL LIVING
Besides foo elimination what steps might you take to reduce the fungus among us? Essential oils have several powerful anti fungal properties - with Cinnamon Bark and Oregano known for effectiveness, applied to bottoms of feet in a carrier oil, such as coconut. We also add Lugol's iodine drops to our Anti Oxidant Immunity Booster drink each morning, Lypo-sporic Vitamin C, as well as one drop of therapeutic grade Lemon essential oil.
WASH PRODUCE - EVEN ORGANIC!
Our household is, as mentinoed, a fan of collodial silver. Every time I bring produce home, it is obviously cut from the tree or vine, or picked from the gardens and fields. It then is no longer live, and can start the process of decay, which of course is where mold comes in. I always wash our produce in water with Collodial Silver, and I also use fresh squeezed lemon juice, or Apple Cider Vinegar also has anti microbial properties, but if your family does not like the taste rinse well after.
Anti-biotics allow fungus to take hold (anti-life) as they do not discriminate between bad and good gut flora. We need our "soldiers" in the form of probiotics (pro-life) and a round of anti biotics will kill off your good flora. It is very important to reestablish the population if one has been exposed to anti biotics.
A supplement containing prebiotics, in addition to the probiotics, is going to help the good gut flora repopulate in the system. I am impressed with LactoSpore, a powerful and robust strain of probiotic patented by a European company. It is contained in the Digestion Plus three-tiered (probiotic, prebiotic, enzyme) supplement that helped me personally, years ago, overcome awful acid reflux issues. As I continue product comparisons to write an article solely on enzymes, the product we use continues to impress.
Scout the home or workplace for mold growth. Bleach does NOT kill mold spores, nor does "Kilz" - which means the mold will grow back. Initial clean up can be done holistically, versus toxic methods, using Thieves oil cleaners. After the walls or such have been cleaned, diffuse Thieves oil in a dry diffuser (plugs in to wall) as it will actually help kill mold spores, whereas bleach does not.
SYMPTOMS
Dr. Mark Hyman writes an excellent article on symptoms that may indicate fungus presence in the body. You may recognize some, I certainly did. I actually revisited the doctor in Rockton, Illinois who used the Asyra diagnostic tool to discover my husband's fungus (and parasites, and secondary Lyme's - all undiagnosed - once you have cancer they really don't look for anything else); and I learned that I as well, have a heavy presence of fungus. I suspected so - afterall, we live in the same environment. Of course I have taken immediate action and have sworn off all breads and yeast products, and am no longer tempted by the local frozen custard. But stress is a bit high in my life right now, and that alone can allow fungus to manifest. I need to ensure that I personally spend more time on the BioMat, and have taken to sleeping on it at low temrperature at night. I also received a list of frequencies to help neutralize my specific fungus and mold issue from the Asyra diagnostic, and need to be on purpose with using the Wellness Pro for my own body's sake - afterall, I don't want the "fungus among us" to take hold.
If you think that one only gets fungus when there is an obvious environmental issue in the home, think again. This was an issue at the time of this writing, in our own home, but is not always the case.
