Life After Hysterectomy
If you have ever had a hysterectomy (men, you are likely excluded from this) - I encourage you to check out these TOP 10 factoids about the procedure, what it does and does not do, and how to safely navigate through the after effects.
I ESPECIALLY want to direct you to points 6, 7, and 8. Doctors are likely not tell you about point 6. This knowledge can prevent subsequent cancers that may result - no uterus, no uterine cancer, right?
Here is the BUT....
Fibroids, the reason many women receive a hysterectomy procedure, are caused by estrogen dominance. I have yet to hear a mainstream medical doctor discuss lifestyle (skin care, lotions, make up, food with hormones, environmental hormones, synthetic Rx hormones) and how ALL of thse things contribute to estrogen dominance, and overall hormone imbalance.
If your hysterectomy left ovaries intact (ovaries typically remain) you can still get ovarian cancer - but rare. A more common occurrence is ovarian cysts, which can be quite painful.
If excess estrogen (specifically estrodial - E2 hormone) is not addressed, you are most certainly at risk for estrogen dominant related cancers, including breast cancer. Fat cells continue to produce estrogen (E2), which is why, even without a uterus, our bodies continue to become more and more out of balance each day. If ovaries are removed, the "progesterone factory" has been removed. Which means the estrogen factories, found in fat cells, is quickly going to out produce the "small progesterone factory" remaining in your brain.
Because women are not told of the importance of paraben free, petrolatum/mineral oil free, artificial ingredient free ingredients, and to avoid hormonal/endocrine disruptive food (aka animals fed/raised with hormones, GMO crops) - if a lifestyle change does not occur a hysterectomy will not necessarily steer you clear of future problems.
