Green Pineapple Smoothie
Super-powered - this smoothie features key ingredients to help reduce inflammation and provide anti oxidants to help promote healing in the body. The vegan, non-soy protein powder is easy to digest, and therefore easy on the kidneys. The ingredients in the protein we prefer is formulated to provide energy as well as 20 essential vitamins and minerals.
Fiber is important for colon health and to help draw toxins out of the body. The fiber supplement powder we use, in particular, is one in which I personally researched and chose in 2010 when researching colon cancer prevention for myself.
Did you know that pineapple is a huge supplier of the proteolytic enzyme Bromelain? Any type of processing reduces the enzyme power, so fresh is best...but I admit that I will buy a half dozen fresh pineapples and prep them all, placing chunks in freezer bags. This is still better than dried capsules. Please read below on how to prep the pineapple to make it convenient to add to your breakfast smoothies.

1 scoop AB Fiber Boost (2023 update - organic stabilized rice bran by NOW may also be used)

2 handfuls greens (organic kale, Swiss chard, spinach in season)

2 T. Thai brand coconut milk (or any organic one ingredient canned coconut milk)
1 half inch wheel fresh pineapple (can be frozen) WITH the rind.
3" section of cucumber - seeds and peel removed
1 tsp. Barlean's Flaxseed oil (if you have a cancer diagnosis call Barlean's and they will sell direct, discounted, when incorporating their product into your regimen)
1 tsp. Camu Camu or Baobob berry powder - nature's source of Vitamin C (do not use ascorbic acid)
2 capsules Organic India Turmeric Formula (opened, powder only)
This is more potent curcumin source than spice in your cupboard, but if that is all you have available, use turmeric
1/4 tsp. Celtic Sea Salt with minerals - or REDMOND salt (do not skip this!)
1 small piece fresh ginger root
5 ice cubes - not needed if using frozen fruit or greens
Add to blender in order listed, blend until smooth. This recipes makes a very large smoothie, approximately 32 oz. For many cancer patients this will split into two servings in the day.
PINEAPPLE PREP
Purchase organic fresh pineapple whenever possible. Most of the Bromelain is found in the rind, with the core having 2nd greatest concentration. To wash the pineapple soak in a bath of fresh lemon juice (or vinegar) and baking soda, and scrub with a brush. In the example below - the pineapple was not organic, and therefore most of the rind was removed leaving the core. Organic pineapple is available during certain times of the year. We learned that when it appears on store shelves, to purchase in bulk, and prep in one day, freezing in chunks - rind and all. Cutting each wheel into 8 chunks - one simply uses 8 when making a smoothie.
Using a large knife slice off the bottom to ensure the pineapple remains flat on the cutting board.Use vertical slices to remove rind, as shown. A powerful blender, such as a Vitamix or Ninja Professional blender, have no issues grinding up the rind, so if your pineapple is organic keep the rind!
Cut 1/2" thick wheels quartering the slice to add to smoothies. Consider fresh papaya as well, to provide another critical proteolytic enzyme - papain.
GINGER ROOT PREP
Purchase organic ginger root, wash. Slice into approximately 1/4 thick slices. Freeze in single layer, and then transfer to a quart freezer bag, labeled, for use in smoothies.
