Immune Boost Pineapple Smoothie
Winter has arrived early and many are coming down with influenza, sore throats, colds. First, I do want to share the mindset that a cold is simply a body's way of detoxing.
It is important to eat a primarily alkaline, plant based diet this time of year to keep your body properly fueled so the immune system can do its work. The Pineapple Smoothie is designed to promote cellular renewal, oxygen flow to the cells, and releasing water in the tissues. The recipe below is an enhanced pineapple smoothie recipe with several additional powerhouse ingredients.
In a blender add
12 oz. purified or distilled water
6 chunks frozen mango
6 chunks frozen pineapple
2-4 T. canned coconut milk (or any organic single ingredient brand)
3 frozen Brussel Sprouts
2 scoops Vanilla Protein
1/2 to 1 scoop fiber supplement or organic stablized rice bran
1 scoop greens - brand selected has been our favorite for nearly a decade
1 tsp. super berry Vitamin C source - Camu Camu or Baobog
DO NOT use ascorbic acid (updated 2023)
1/2 tsp. organic ground ginger or piece of fresh ginger root
1/2 tsp. organic ground turmeric
1/4 Celtic Sea Salt or Redmond Salt (important - DO NOT SKIP!)
