Living Green Outdoor Blend for Yards
Jerry Baker credited for this mosquito repellent.
Mosquitoes around your yard making enjoyment not so enjoyable?
A 20 gallon sprayer, bottle of lemon scented dish soap and lemon scented amonia will do your yard a world of good in reducing those blood-sucking pests.
To a sprayer add:
1 cup lemon scented amonia
1 cup lemon scented dish soap
Fill remainder of tank with water
Spray around the yard on the foliage, such as the hostas, bushes, and all those hiding places that mosquitoes wait out by day to "get you" at night. For best results do this once a week, or several days before a planned outdoor family event, repeating daily.
Another repellent is LEMONGRASS. Plant this in your flower beds, berms, around the home - mosquitoes are not fond of lemon scents. Which is why citronella can be helpful as well.
