Paleo - Friend or Foe?

Paleo diet is a huge craze right now, and although there are many positive and healthful aspects to the concept of paelo, I must give caution to those who are in remission from cancer or are battling cancer in pursuing a paleo diet.

In the "Quest for the Cure" series aired in September by Ty Bollinger, one of the guests speakers explained how animal meats promote cancer. I would have to dig out my notes to quote the alternative oncologist by name, my apologies, as I have no time for that at the moment. This is too important not to share...and with Christmas over many are now considering their path for healthier choices in 2015.

What's in the name?

Purely Living...although this name has been around for four years...this website is new. The name reflects my own journey to wellness. Continually striving to live a life that is pure in intention, pure of heart...in other words, being genuine and seeking God's purpose for my life...and living it the best I can to serve others. Falling short, as humans do, and learning to accept and give grace.

My wellness journey began when I learned that ingredients in our hygiene, cosmetics and food products affect our well being. This led to a new found path with a home-based health and wellness business opportunity, and wellness transformation. I began to discover the purpose God has called me to - serving and helping others to live healthier lives.

The journey has been one of personal growth, and helped me to reconnect with the Spirit, and a realization that the mind is our most powerful tool in whether or not we find success in life...whether that success is translated into good health, financial freedom, or relationships with one another. Much like food is either poison or fuel for the body, our minds, too, either poison us with thoughts that do not serve us, or fuel our wholeness with positive energy and outcomes.

Four years ago I would not have imagined that I would be where I am today...using what I have learned to help my husband through his journey with late stage cancer. We buy the purist of foods we can, which is certainly questionable even when choosing organic. We use holistic equipment to help with detoxification and to boost the immune system, and the Wellness Pro for pain management. But perhaps most importantly, we remain focused on the prize and the promise that we will be granted a "radical remission" ... purity of thoughts as we fix our eyes on a gracious Healer, and trust that this unexpected journey will allow us to serve others as we share our testimony.

This blog is dedicated to everyone who is on a wellness journey. Each journey is unique, yet we may share commonalities. You and I may follow some of the same alternative and holistic brilliant minds who practice outside the box of traditional medicine. We may be eliminating the same food groups from our diets. Perhaps you have successfully turned your health around, as have I done, or you are eager to learn more of how you may do so.
With each and every day I believe there is a lesson to be learned. Life is an experience. We all make mistakes, I know I do! But the only true mistake is one in which we don't learn from our errors, or we cease to seek out knowledge from those who have become wise on the journey.
Much of the information on this website, and this blog, are the result of my own wellness journey, and my husband's journey with a terminal cancer diagnosis and an undiagnosed advanced Lyme disease - which ultimately contributed to his earthly body failing him. Yet his Spirit was intact and whole, and he rejoiced the day he went home to his Creator God.

It is my hope that you embrace LIFE, and live intentionally from experience!
