For myself it was a line by Jennie, our first speaker, “Our world and its values are so different than what God values. We are distracted trying to do BIG things when God is asking us to pay attention to the small.”
Prior to my husband passing away I was focused on the BIG…growing a business that could bring in expotential income. Income that would allow him to retire early so that we could travel, and reconnect with one another. But God had other plans… the partner I planned to grow old with was called to his Heavenly home.
Because of our journey with cancer God has made it very clear that all happens for a reason, and in my case, to put me on a path towards a calling that ties in with my focus, but He is taking it to a higher realm. Reaffirmed by several who have been given divine messages to relay to me, or people who get a “sense” when talking to me that what I now do is only the beginning of His great plan. It is a much smaller plan than what I had intended, in some respects. It is not a plan that is going to make me rich or bring fame. Yet in its “smallness” it is huge to His people, whom God loves, and finds benefit from the wellness I can help to provide.
Another take away… GO SMALLER, DEEPER, QUIETER.
In this noisy world there is so much that distracts us from God. As a high energy person, my being wired to always be on the go, it is difficult for me to sit in the quietness of His holy presence. A friend of mine is very good at being in “quietness” – I believe there is a lesson to be learned from their daily practice. It is only in quiet mindfulness that we can disconnect from the noisy world around us, tap into our higher frequency, and reconnect with a God who wants us to renew our minds in Him.
In a world where we are programmed to “GO BIG” , instead, I am going to redirect my mind to quiet focus on God, His calling in my life, and “GO SMALL”. It is in obedience to the path He has prepared for me to walk that I will be rewarded with riches much greater than any material wealth of this earth.
Peace,
Rita S.
