I recall sitting in hot springs along a trail in Utah's rugged country a couple of years ago - what an amazing location for some deep breathing exercises...the smell of the sulfuric springs permeated my nostrils. The water cascading over the rocks. The healing warmth of the mineral laden waters... I can imagine being there yet again, as I take my deep breaths. Where do you imagine yourself to be while doing mindful breath work?
Recently, my oldest left home for Army National Guard training. With him gone I decided the bedrooms were long overdue to be refreshed with paint, floor refinishing, closet rebuilds, etc. His absence makes it a bit easier as we can shuffle rooms as we do the updates.
Bio-resonance work combined with remodeling, it leaves little time for self-care. Before this week is out, however, I will have a new view when I wake in the morning. I will want to return to the mindfulness of starting my day with breath work, and I hope you consider doing so as well. Each time, repeat 3 times, and then try to repeat at least two more times during the day. I created some artwork, using those hotsprings as a backdrop, which you are welcome to use as a reminder. I did not put down seconds, as everyone is different. Some can start with a 10 second intake of air, 10 second hold, 10 second exhale...and some cannot. Others can do 20, 30 - and those with a wonderfully functioning lungs may do this for a minute! But it is not necessary, at all, for the benefit of mindful breathwork.
By the way,you can do breath work while on the Lifepro Vibration Platform, and although it may not be quite as relaxing, I enjoy taking oxygen in while all my muscles are contracting and circulation is active.
There are many teachers in breath work. I was introduced to Wim Hoff several years ago. This video introduces you to his technique. BE AWARE of your limitations - work up to the longer breath holds of one minute. The technique is simple and it doesn't take long.
IN WITH PEACE, OUT WITH STRESS. (repeat this mantra as you do the breath work.)
You will be amazed at how good you feel afterwords! I just finished...ahhhh!
Which breathing techniques do you engage in? I'd love to know.
In peace, love and light,
Rita S.
