This past Sunday we received another excellent message from Pastor Steve German, at Grace Evangelical Church in Madison, Wisconsin. I certainly had a number of "ah ha" moments. I thought of all the personal growth authors and speakers who talk about "going after YOUR dreams". I have received books as gifts through the years from business coaches, others were recommended by entrepreneurs. Mind you, not a ONE of the coaches in my life suggested that I sit quietly with the Lord and LISTEN to His message for me.
That time came to me in a period of my life when I was grieving for my husband, who went to his eternal home. I had months following where God and I had some pretty intense times together. I was obedient and followed what I believe to be His calling in my life. I lost the desire to follow my dreams, and donated a number of the books that lined my shelf. I have done my best to discern which books have a message of faith that I believe God wants me to learn from...and purged the rest.
God loves humanity. God loves His children. It would seem to me that if my dreams are all about ME and my wants and desires...obtaining my dreams will be a struggle. But if I seek first God's will in and for my life...and align with His love...the journey is one that brings peace and joy. Although it is not easy in the day to day, and yes, I do struggle...I do have peace in my heart.
God created plants for His love of humanity to provide for our well-being. I believe one of the reasons I so enjoy working with herbs and medicinal plants is because God has placed them on my heart, and wisdom to use them for the good of His children. As we near spring, I have planted seeds and placed them under grow lights. Some of the herbs I am starting from seed include lemongrass, sweet and holy basil, and parsley. I intend to add more rosemary plants this year, and elecampane is high on my list to plant in the gardens.
I love seeing others become excited about herbs and learning their medicinal properties. When we are open to the ancient wisdom of our forefathers we begin to see that non-toxic healing was a part of God's plan all along...but somewhere along the line we fell in line with man's dream to create powerful empires. We fell in line, and gave up our God-given sovereignty. We fell in line with being self-serving and self-focused rather than being God-focused. This spring, I encourage you to find time for nature, reconnect with God's plant creations, and God's plan for you.
Bathe in God's highest frequency,
Rita S.
