Yet, it wrinkles and we opt for easy-care polyester and polyester blends. These "plastic" fabrics - no matter how breathable the manufacturer claims them to be - are endocrine disruptors. I understand the dilemmas of clothing shopping, and trying to living a healthy lifestyle can be overwhelming.
May I make one suggestion? Begin with focusing on where you spend 7-8 hours a day on average - your bed. What are you sleeping in and what are you sleeping on. Consider organic cotton sleepwear (if you wear anything at all) and organic cotton sheets. Or even better, organic linen if you can budget them in.
The normal practice in cotton farming has really amped up the use of pesticide and herbicides these past decades. Especially for "bt" cotton, which has become so common and found on most labels. As we spend an average of 7-8 hrs daily with our face buried in a pillowcase (where our primary hormone gland rests) and sleep, doesn't it make sense to work with your body vs. against it during the self-healing part of the day?
Avocado Green Mattress offers organic cotton and linen bedding. I don't know that it is the best, but it is more readily affordable than other brands. It was a start for me, but I continue to search.
Have you found organic bedding of single fabric, ie all cotton, hemp, or all linen? Most of what I have found is sourced from India, but Rawganique (linen bed sheet set shown in image) sources from USA and Europe, and features Irish linen sheets. My understanding is is that bedding can be had from Texas organic cotton farmers - but have yet to locate a USA company offering it. Please share if you know of it.
Are you already aware and have been sleeping with higher frequency fabrics? Have you been successful in finding organic, no blend sleepwear or bedding that you prefer? I would love to learn about your sources.
This facebook reel talks about the importance of fabrics. As well, Dr. Monzo covers this rather extensively in his book, The Aleph Tav Body System: Restoring the Bio-Energetic Temple.
